Chmelar in México!

This year for Christmas we had the amazing gift from God to have almost all the Chmelar Family in México for the first time! of course we missed our two brothers and their sweet girls .

Obviously our first stop was a TACO stand.

The ministry {Genesis} that I {Tiffany} came to mexico , to serve in, recently opened a special needs orphanage.  It was so great to take our family there, to see the facility, meet the founders {the ever so lovely Greg and Patti Amstutz}, and hold the kids.  The name of the orphanage is Beautiful Gate.  It’s beauty doesn’t stop at the gate… its so much deeper.

We always enjoy when friends and family come visit us in Ensenada.  It gives us a chance to play tourists for the day.

Christmas Eve found Josue and Dad setting up for our candle light service.  It was the first Christmas event that we’ve ever do here in Horizonte Ensenada {our church} because Mexicans normally celebrate Christmas the 24 all night.

Even do, we have a lot of people in a public area hearing the Gospel.

Christmas time was an amazing time talking about our testimonies in Christ, remembering from where God deliver us.

Marry Christmas and Happy New year!

Movimiento Tour!

Our Home Church started an event called MOVIMIENTO (Movement) three years ago.  It’s our biggest event in the year!

{below is the logo of Movimiento}

We realized as a church that we wanted to share this event with other people in other states, so we put together a #movitour consisting of; our worship band (BANDA HORIZONTE), Pastor Jonathan Domingo, and a team of 30 faithful volunteers.  We organized a three day tour stopping in 3 different cities; Tijuana, Mexicali, and Hermosillo.

{below is a picture with the team of volunteers before we left for the Tour}

Our First Stop was in Tijuana City, only 100 miles from our home city of Ensenada.  We had a college campus theatre booked for our first even and the morning before we arrived they cancelled on us due to their no religious events on campus policy. After a lot of prayer and appealing to the board… over 700 people packed in there that night, singing their hearts out in worship to Jesus. It was a great way to start out our tour.

As soon as the event ended we tore down all our sound equipment, instruments, merchandise, and packed all the team in the vans and drove over “La Rumorosa” (a big mountain pass) and arrived in Mexicali around 2 am. That night we had over 800 people join us and in Hermosillo we had about 300.  It was a huge blessing.

Our friend Tym Kemp (Director of Ywam Ensenada and Tiffany’s boss) and his 2 kids -Asher and Noah- went with us, and they have a family tradition that every time they pass this store close to Hermosillo they always buy Ice cream there. They were so kind to welcome us in as honorary family.

The #movitour was an amazing time.  It was an honor to serve together as a couple and with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
